For the Monticello Lions Club, there are no limits to our willingness to help others in need. Since 1975, we have supported humanitarian efforts within our community and abroad. We are proud of the many ways in which we have contributed to a healthy community.

Donation History

  • The Monticello Lions Club has invested in a number of Monticello parks to support natural community spaces that improve lives by promoting health and wellbeing. The new West Bridge Park destination playground was partially funded through Lions contributions. Lions designed, built, and wired shelters at Monticello premier parks including Pioneer Park, Ellison Park, and West Bridge Park. Each holiday season, the Lions light up West Bridge Park with a festive Christmas light display.

  • In support of education and the health of our community's youth, the Lions contribute to Monticello School District's Magic Closet, teacher reimbursement program, and various school projects and programs.

  • Each year, hundreds of Christmas food baskets are assembled and distributed to individuals and families in need. Through the years, more than 6,650 Christmas food baskets have been hand-packed and distributed over the years - enough food to feed more than 26,500 people!

  • In 1976, the Lions hosted Monticello's first Riverfest Celebration. Nearly 50 years later, the Lions, along with other dedicated community organizations, continue to support and participate in this annual celebration.

  • The Monticello Lions Club has donated more than $2 million to humanitarian projects and foundations locally and abroad.

  • Since 1983, the Lions have contributed more than $250,000 to the Monticello Scholarship fund to help support local students pursuing higher education.

  • The Monticello Lions Club designed, built, and wired the Health Center Building at Camp Friendship - an organization committed to enhancing independence and self-esteem of children and adults with disabilities.
